Frederick wedding photography – Carey and Sean were married on a beautiful Friday afternoon at Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, MD. When I arrived, Carey and Sean were already there and hanging out with family and bridal party members; separate rooms within the mansion, of course. The plan was to shoot all of the group photos prior to the ceremony. The ladies got ready without any trouble. The guys did too…with the help of a mobile phone and Youtube. The guys wanted to ensure that they were properly putting on their boutonniere and these days, when faced with a challenge of this nature, there’s always Youtube for the answers!
Once everyone’s formal attire was sorted out, it was off to the ceremony location for the “First Look”. Since we were shooting all of the formals prior to the ceremony, I suggested to Carey that we have a “First Look” so they still have that first wonderful moment when they see each other the first time on their wedding day. That moment turned out to be great! We shot the group photos with family members and the bridal party and then it was just the three of us for some photos of just the two of them. We took a short walk to the old mill at the rear of the property and took advantage of that structure, as well as the old red barn next to it. I think Carey and Sean really liked the time “alone” prior to the ceremony.
The ceremony was great and the outdoor temperature was perfect. Even though Sean already saw Carey in her gown, he was still just as full of anticipation watching her walk down the aisle escorted by her father. After the ceremony, it was straight off to the cocktail hour for the bridal party and family. We shot just a few more photos of the newly wed couple in the front of Ceresville Mansion since they loved the venue so much.
The reception was lovely & everyone seemed to have a great time either catching up or dancing the night away. During the cake cutting, Sean and Carey were torn between being nice or smashing the cake into each other’s faces. It was a stand off….but luckily, the Best Man, who also happens to be Sean’s brother, made the decision for both as he proceeded to smash the cake Sean was holding….right into Sean’s own face. Carey seems to have won that one.
The couple ended the evening with their final dance and were ushered off through a gauntlet of bubbles, smiles, and well wishes from everyone there!
