Maryland Wedding Planning Advice from a Maryland Bride

A big thank you to Libby for providing some Maryland wedding planning advice.

What advice can you give to other couples planning their weddings?

I would tell couples planning their weddings to stick to a calendar of when they want to complete check-list items and focus on each one, one at a time. It can be overwhelming to think of all the tasks at once! We used the knot.com to-do list, put major things on a google calendar and gave our selves deadlines that way.

We’re there any online resources that you found especially helpful?

The knot.com and weddingwire.com were fantastic for staying organized and getting ideas. Pintrist was also very helpful for ideas. We used google docs to share to store all our notes, budget, vendor contact information, guest list… basically everything!

What part of the planning process was the most fun for you?

We loved designing our wedding ceremony. After meeting an officiant we found using theknot.com, we worked with her to create a ceremony that would reflect us as a couple, from the readings to the music, we got to make it our own completely.

Where did you find inspiration for your wedding?

Inspiration for our wedding came from many different places mostly family traditions and the internet. We wanted to go with a simple and classic ceremony and reception. We used the The Knot Guide to Wedding Vows and Traditions to get ideas for the ceremony, especially readings.

What was your favorite wedding day moment?

The whole day was amazing, it’s impossible to pick a favorite moment. But somethings that will stick with me are seeing my husband for the first time when I was walking down the isle, our first dance and my dance with my dad. I also loved hanging-out with my bridesmaids all day, especially right before the ceremony began. I tried to remember each moment and not worry about how quickly the night was going!

We love sharing relevant information and staying connected. Go ahead and take a second to connect with us.
